The 'Shared Files' feature enables you to share files and documents with your client. This feature is particularly useful if you want to share generic files or documents with your clients, even though they may not be enrolled in one of your coaching programs. Or, if those files/documents that you wish to share are not specifically associated with a program that the client is enrolled in.
For example, if you work as a consultant and you use CoachVantage because of the ease of sharing files and documents with your consulting clients, this feature would be ideal for you.
Another example could be that you wish to share a video or an interesting article with your client. This article or video may not be specifically related to the coaching program that your client is enrolled in, but could be beneficial to them, you would use the Shared Files feature. The shared file will not be 'associated' with any coaching program that the client is enrolled in.
All common file formats or documents can be uploaded and shared with your client. These include PDF, DOC, CSV, XLS, NUMBERS, WAV, MP4, etc.
Refer to the image below:
- Documents and files shared on the Client page are listed in the Shared Files menu, as shown in the image below.
- The file name, Owner and Last Modified date are shown. You can open a folder to display the files within and open the files by clicking on them.
- To add files, click the Add Files button on the right and select to Add File From Resource Library or Add Local File and you can also upload Images using the Choose Images link.
- The button menu on the right-hand side opens to either download the documents or Remove the shared file.
Your Client's Access to Shared Files in the Client Portal:
When you share files with your client from the Shared Files page, the file will be accessible to your client in the Resource Library of their Client portal (see image below).
NOTE: Please note that files that are shared for a specific client engagement (program) will only be accessible under that specific engagement in the Client portal, and not in the Resource Library.
